Summary: Sigh...in the words of the Screen Junkies, this film is the big-screen adaptation of the best-selling novel, that's got everything you love about...the title...and nothing else.

History: A virus born from Africa has spread and fast, causing hundreds to become crazed zombies that exist solely to bite others and spread the horrible strain. Now, a survivor ends up hopping from one place to another witnessing an insanely violent and uncertain war between the living and the dead.

Notable Kills: The battle of Israel ends in their favor, thanks to some horrific tactics (such as piling on top of one another).

Final Fate: Our protagonist finds out that the zombies don’t attack people with terminal illnesses. With this in mind, a new pathogen is developed that could lead to a cure, and more and more survivors manage to come together to stand a chance against the outbreak.

Powers/Abilities: The zombies go berserk upon hearing sound, and can transmit the virus with a bite.

Weakness: If a bitten part is severed in time, the infection will cease. Also, they don't attack people with terminal illnesses.

Scariness Factor: 3.5-For what it's worth, the zombies here are as primal and dangerous as any other. Then again, they just want to bite you and put you through the PAINFUL transformation into one of them. Seeing them just drop like flies so the rest can get to prey is also an unsettling sight for sure.

Trivia: -Hooo boy, the production of this film was an absolute nightmare for all involved. Brad Pitt wanted a more faithful adaptation, but his small studio forced him to work with director Marc Forster, who was also not used to doing such large-scale productions. It all went downhill from there, as budget concerns and tons of fighting over how to adapt the book caused the thing to be delayed constantly and the third act to be put into jeopardy. In the end, despite the success the film had, it's hard to say whether it was truly Pitt's vision after all.

-The original book by Max Brooks was a fictional recounting of a two-decades long war between us and the zombies. Although we won in the end, the book details just how much it cost for that victory.
